The objective of this assignment is to recreate the Lasvegasmovieinsider.com website; to create a website that is fun and delightful so that the visitor would want to spend time there and return on a regular basis. The site is a place for people to get current, relevant information on movies, events, and contests that are happening in their neighborhood. It is a site where people can input their own information, thoughts, experiences and wants.
The goal is to gather emails and demographic information to create a database with lists and sublists shich have specific purpose and function and to have each sublist focus on a tightly targeted niche. The way to gather this information is to use involvement devices which get people involved and to have them interact with the site. One of the most important things you want to do is to have people opt-in, only putting those on your list who requested that you do so remembering that quality is more important than quantity. You want to create lists of people who you know are going to respond and are going to be loyal.
After creating a database, the way that revenue will be made is to use this list to promote local businesses. By going to local businesses and offering to promote their business by advertising them as the spot that people can go to pick up free tickets to the movies. The local business will get a set amount of movie tickets to hand out to people on a date and time of the local businesses choosing which will be advertised through the movie website. On this date, the local business can use this opportunity to offer specials to promote and sell their own products.
Because our lists are focused on tightly targeted niches, we can send people to businesses which offer products that these people are interested in making what we offer more efficient and beneficial not only to the local business, but also to the people we are involving.
The concept is a win-win situation. We make money, the local business makes money and the people reap the benefits of all that we have to offer.
